2027 Mystery Mastermind Writers Retreat:
TERMS & CONDITIONS

Because this retreat is limited to five writers, and because the venue, chef, and editorial commitments must be secured many months in advance, the following policy applies to all registrations.

Cancellation by a registrant. All registration payments are final and non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend, you may request to transfer your registration to another writer, subject to my approval. Alternatively, if there is a waitlist for the retreat, I’ll make a good-faith effort to fill your seat; if your seat is filled, I’ll refund your payments less a $235 administrative fee. If your seat cannot be filled, no refund will be issued.

Cancellation by me. In the unlikely event I must cancel the retreat for reasons within my control, all registration payments will be refunded in full. My liability is limited to the amount you’ve paid in registration fees; I am not able to reimburse airfare, other travel costs, or any other expenses.

Events beyond anyone’s control (force majeure). The retreat will proceed rain or shine, so long as conditions remain safe, in my judgment. If the retreat must be canceled due to circumstances beyond my reasonable control—force majeure, including but not limited to, for example, fire, flood, hurricane, pandemic, or government-ordered closure—you’ll receive a credit toward a future retreat rather than a monetary refund. This reflects venue and vendor costs already committed on your behalf and not recoverable by me.

Travel. Travel to and from Sarasota is not included and is each registrant’s responsibility. I strongly recommend booking refundable travel and purchasing travel insurance or event coverage that includes trip-cancellation and trip-interruption protection, in case unforeseen circumstances prevent your attendance.
